Privacy Policy

What we keep, and what we don't.

Updated 12 June 2026

Drift just plays — no account, no sign-in, nothing to set up. We don't sell your data and we don't track you across other apps. The app gathers only anonymous diagnostics so it stays stable, and your settings never leave your device.

01

What the app collects

Drift doesn't require an account and never asks for personal information — no name, email, contacts, photos, or precise location.

Anonymous diagnostics & usage

To keep the app stable and understand how it's used, Drift collects a limited, anonymous signal through Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics):

None of this is linked to your identity, and none of it is used to track you across other companies' apps or sites. We don't collect the advertising identifier (IDFA), and ad personalisation is off.

What stays on your device

Your preferences and settings live locally on your device (iOS UserDefaults). They stay there — we don't collect them.

02

How we use it

We don't sell your information, and we don't use your data for third-party advertising.

03

Who else is involved

One service provider processes data from the app on our behalf:

Google Firebase (Analytics & Crashlytics) handles the anonymous diagnostics and usage described above. See Firebase Privacy and Google's Privacy Policy.

04

How long it's kept

Anonymous diagnostic and analytics data is retained only as long as it's useful for the purposes above, within Firebase's default retention periods. Because it isn't tied to your identity, there's no individual record of you for us to single out or pull back.

05

Your rights

The app collects only anonymous data that isn't tied to you, so there's no personal profile for us to hand over, correct, or delete. Where you live may still grant you rights over your personal data — under the GDPR or CCPA, for instance — and if you ever have a question or request about how the app handles information, write to us and we'll help.

06

Children

Drift is rated 4+ and contains nothing objectionable, so it's suitable for all ages — but it isn't aimed at children, and it isn't part of Apple's Kids category. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or the older age of digital consent where you live). If you believe a child has shared personal information with us, contact us and we'll delete it.

07

Security & where data goes

We rely on reputable providers and sensible safeguards, including encryption in transit (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is ever perfectly secure. Firebase may process data on servers outside your country; where required, it uses appropriate safeguards for those transfers.

08

Changes

We may revise this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top. Material changes will appear here, and continuing to use Drift after an update means you accept the revised policy.
