How does Drift work?

Drift doesn't play pre-recorded tracks. It generates music in real time from a field of musical moods, and the sound keeps evolving, so no two sessions are ever the same. Open the app and start drifting. There is nothing to queue or decide.

I don't hear any sound.

Run through these, in order:

1. Check the ring/silent switch on the side of your iPhone isn't set to silent.
2. Turn the volume up with the side buttons while Drift is open.
3. On Bluetooth headphones, confirm they're connected and selected as the output.
4. Close and reopen the app.

Does it keep playing in the background?

Yes. Drift keeps generating while your screen is off or you're in another app. If it stops, check that Drift isn't restricted under Settings → General → Background App Refresh, and that Low Power Mode isn't suspending it.

Should I use headphones?

Recommended. The moods are tuned with rich low end and stereo movement that small phone speakers cannot fully reproduce, though Drift works fine on speakers too.

Why does it sound different every time?

That's the whole idea. The music is generated live and drifts continuously between moods, so it never repeats. Predictable loops pull your attention. This does not, which is exactly what lets it fade into the background while you focus.

How do I send feedback?

Open Settings in the app and tap Send feedback. It opens an email to us with your app version and device already filled in. Or just email us directly.

Tell us which moods you loved, anything that sounded off, such as clicks, harshness or out-of-tune moments, and how it held up over a long session. Your feedback genuinely shapes what ships.

What is free, and what does Drift Pro add?

Every mood, every timer length and the classic 25/5 focus round are free, with no time limit. Drift Pro adds the 50/10 deep sets and 90/20 ultradian rounds, the Gentle and Deep journeys, the full journal with your streak and the longer view, and unlimited saved routines. Pro is a subscription with a 7 day free trial: $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year.

How do I cancel or restore Drift Pro?

Cancel any time in your iPhone Settings under your Apple ID, then Subscriptions. Cancelling during the trial means nothing is charged. If you reinstall Drift or move to a new phone, open Settings in the app and tap Restore purchases to bring Pro back.

How is my data handled?
